Linwood Incident Today: A major police investigation is continuing in Linwood, Renfrewshire, after a 49-year-old woman was allegedly struck by a car in what authorities are treating as an attempted murder. The incident happened at around 3:45 p.m. on June 30 on Clippens Road, near Our Lady of Peace nursery school. According to Police Scotland, the vehicle was deliberately driven at the woman before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment and was later released.

Police have confirmed that an 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court facing charges including attempted murder, assault, possession of an offensive weapon in public, and threatening or abusive behaviour. He made no plea, was granted bail, and the case has been continued for further investigation.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses, as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the Clippens Road area around the time of the incident, to come forward. Officers say extensive inquiries remain ongoing as they work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged attack.
