Charles “Chuck” Romano Kansas City, MO Death Obituary: A life measured by love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to family is a life that leaves an enduring legacy. Charles C. “Chuck” Romano, a beloved Kansas City barber, businessman, U.S. veteran, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born on December 31, 1948, to Andrew and Frances Romano, Chuck was raised in Kansas City’s historic North End and graduated from Northeast High School. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a barber, building not only a respected career but lifelong friendships with generations of clients who appreciated both his craftsmanship and his warm conversation.

Chuck also found success as an entrepreneur, owning and operating Texas Tom’s, Angie’s Drive-In, and later establishing his own food distribution company. Beyond his professional accomplishments, his greatest pride was his family. For 52 years, he shared a remarkable marriage with his beloved wife, Angela (Accurso) Romano. Together they raised their daughter, Francie, and son, Andrew, creating a home centered on love, faith, and togetherness.

A lifelong horse enthusiast, Chuck created his own “city farm,” where he delighted in teaching his granddaughters to ride. He also treasured weekly gatherings with childhood friends and was an active member of UNICO and The American Sons of Columbus. One of his favorite places was Cumpy’s Sports & Apparel, where he proudly supported his son’s business.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Frances Romano, along with several cherished family members. He is survived by his wife, Angela, his children, eight beloved grandchildren, his sisters, and a large extended family who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will follow on Wednesday, July 8, at 10:00 a.m., with burial at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Chuck Romano’s legacy is one of kindness, humility, and steadfast love. His example will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community for generations to come.
