24-year-old monk Kiattisak:  A 24-year-old Thai monk, identified as Kiattisak, is facing police charges following a fatal road accident in Buriram Province that claimed the life of a 72-year-old woman. The collision occurred on Sai Na Lao–Hua Fai Road in Thailand’s Isaan region.

According to police, Kiattisak was driving a sedan when it struck the elderly pedestrian, identified as Khiao, who was reportedly walking along the roadside while carrying an umbrella. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the woman was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries.

Authorities have charged the monk with reckless driving causing death as they continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Police are gathering witness statements and examining evidence to determine exactly how the incident occurred.
